Mindset is the foundation of our process when it comes to navigating pain and improving performance. Your thoughts and the words you use to describe yourself play a significant role in your progress. The way you talk about yourself can either empower you or act as a barrier to your goals. By shifting your language, you can overcome challenges more effectively and cultivate a healthier, more productive mindset.
The words you speak over yourself can be either powerful or poisonous. A simple change in language can significantly influence your outlook and outcomes. For instance, how you frame your thoughts about your abilities and efforts can help you tackle common obstacles in training and rehab with greater resilience.
Below, we highlight some common phrases that may hinder your progress and offer suggestions for more positive alternatives:

Any time you say the words “I” or “I’m,” be very careful about what follows. These words have the potential to define who you are and who you’re becoming. Take a moment to pause and reflect before speaking. Focus on aligning your words with the person you aspire to be, rather than reacting to current frustrations or limitations.
Remember, consistent progress comes from small, steady improvements. Every effort you make, no matter how small, contributes to your overall growth. Instead of aiming for perfection, prioritize steady, incremental changes that move you closer to your goals.
